Call for Partnerships

The Congenital Heart Disease Foundation of Nigeria, CHDFNigeria, is calling for partnership towards their CHD advocacy program for the year 2025.If you’re a healthcare organisation or NGO working in health /advocacy or child issues, this call is for you.

Over the past decades, Congenital Heart Defect continues to claim the life of children in Nigeria, with an estimated 7000 families impacted yearly, as CHD is believed to affect 1 in 100 live births. With few cardiac facilities and specialists across the country and the high cost of management, most of these children are lost.

In order to address the high mortality caused by CHD in Nigeria and reduce the number of under 5 death from this, it is crucial to address the common issues around CHD.

Apart from inadequate healthcare infrastructure/cardiac programs affordable and accessible to common Nigerian families impacted by the disease, we also discovered huge knowledge and awareness gap of CHD among general public and even among healthcare workers.

Therefore, we have developed a robust advocacy program that utilizes awareness walk and community engagement to increase public awareness of the disease and also encourage government/health stakeholders participation/funding of CHD program across Nigeria.

We’re calling on organizations and interested persons to join us to change CHD narrative in Nigeria.
