Globally, 1 in 100 children are born with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) and in Nigeria, cases of CHD are 3.5 to 14 per 1000 live births. The journey for a Nigerian child born with CHD is often met with immense challenges. From delayed diagnoses and the high cost of life-saving surgeries, to limited specialized medical facilities and trained professionals, it is a silent crisis that affects countless families, often leading to despair and death. It was from this deeply felt understanding that the Congenital Heart Disease Foundation of Nigeria (CHDFNigeria) was born.
