Lagos, Nigeria – April 17, 2026
The Congenital Heart Disease Foundation of Nigeria (CHDFNigeria) announces the launch of the Heart Without Borders campaign, a six-week fundraising initiative aimed at providing life-saving heart surgeries for 10 children currently on its surgical waitlist.
In Nigeria, over 85,000 children are born each year with congenital heart disease, with many families unable to afford the average cost of surgery. This campaign seeks to raise $100,000 to cover critical medical procedures, post-operative care, and essential support for affected families.
The initiative will run from April 17 to May 29, 2026, with surgeries scheduled for June 2026. Funds raised will directly support hospital costs, surgical teams, intensive care, medications, and follow-up care, as well as logistics such as transportation and accommodation for families.
CHDFNigeria emphasizes transparency and accountability, ensuring that every contribution directly impacts the treatment and recovery of each child, with updates and outcome reports provided to supporters.
We are calling on individuals, corporate organizations, and partners to support this effort through donations, partnerships, and advocacy to help bridge the gap between diagnosis and access to life-saving care.
